There's a new record holder on the block. After 4 months of late nights and long weekends, the 2020 S550 driven by Boyd Bumbera and built by Bumbera's Performance in Sealy, TX now holds the record for the World's Fastest Naturally Aspirated 2018+ Mustang. The record was previously held by Steeda, a leading manufacturer of Mustang parts.
“Breaking the record is a huge accomplishment for our company. We’re a family-owned and operated performance shop and we were able to take on one of the biggest names in our industry and come out on top,” says Kenny Bumbera, Owner of Bumbera’s Performance. “The fact that my son and our High Performance Specialist, Boyd Bumbera, was behind the wheel makes this achievement that much sweeter.”
This isn’t the first time the company has broken the naturally aspirated record for a mustang. In January 2018 Bumbera’s Performance held the record for the fastest naturally aspirated 2018 Mustang.
Boyd Bumbera explained, “I knew that Steeda’s record would be a tough one to beat but we were able to tackle it in our own way by building our own cold air intake and using our own experience in drag racing. I couldn’t be more proud of everyone that was part of this build.”
Bumbera's Performance could not have done this without the help of the following:
Rob Shoemaker from Palm Beach Dyno
Kelly Aiken from Kelltrac
Ricky Bogart from Bogart Racing Wheels
Manuel Gomez from Midnight Performance
