Nowadays there’s lots of dealerships offering aftermarket upgrades to new vehicles such as wheels, tires, lift kits, exhaust, etc. When you buy a vehicle with these add-ons from the dealer, the cost of the upgrades is usually bundled in with your purchase price and financing. Is that a good or a bad thing?
We always preach about using good fuel and having a good tune in your performance car, especially your daily driven hot rod. We had a great example this week about why this is so important! After some bad luck, the Stampede Mustang came to us in need of a fresh start. We ended up rewiring most of the car, installing a new airbag system, doing some cosmetic and interior changes, and getting the car running so that the owner could enjoy it. After a lot of blood and sweat, the Stampede is back where it belongs!
When you search the internet for different exhaust you’ll typically find the same 5 brands mentioned: Corsa, Borla, Magnaflow, and Flowmaster. They all bring something different to the table whether its a different sound or a more efficient flow. The main result you can expect from aftermarket exhaust is sound. However, some will also yield a gain in horsepower (5-10%) although it’s not usually enough of an increase that you’d be able to feel.
